As the ratings for episode two of “Empire” took a dip from its premiere episode, network executives might want to listen to Wendy Williams’ thoughts on the popular show.
Thursday, on the ;“The Wendy Williams Show,” ;Williams explained during the “Empire” recap segment how Terrence Howard’s history of domestic abuse has become a distraction to the show.
“Terrence Howard your personal life has taken over to where if by chance they took you off the show I would be happier than mad,” she said.
“I feel like between him allegedly being abusive to women in his personal life, him giving an 18-page nutty interview to Rolling Stone magazine, where he talked about all kinds of nuttiness… It’s usurped his entire situation at ‘Empire’ and the show could do without Terrence Howard. I’m sorry. It’s the way I feel.”
Howard admitted to Rolling Stone last month ;that he hit his two ex-wives, and Lee Daniels defended the actor during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“That poor boy. [Terrence] ain’t done nothing different than Marlon Brando ;or Sean Penn, and all of a sudden he’s some f***in’ demon,” the hip-hop drama’s co-creator said. “That’s a sign of the time, of race, of where we are right now in America.”
