Citing witnesses, authorities say Jones fled the scene of the crash and returned quickly to grab a handful of cash from his rental SUV.

Shortly after his arrest, Jones was stripped of his UFC light heavyweight title and suspended.

UFC President Dana White attended the hearing and said a decision about Jones’ status with the UFC would come after his legal proceedings have ended.

Judge Charles Brown ordered Jones, who trains in Albuquerque, to serve 72 weeks of probation and make 72 appearances speaking to local youth.
