Deion Sanders and Jackson State have HBCUs’ best football recruiting class Tigers sign eight transfer athletes from Power 5 schools, plus several 3-star recruits

Coach Deion Sanders and Jackson State easily had the biggest signing day by a historically Black college football program Wednesday, as the college football’s early signing period began.

The Tigers officially signed his son Shedeur Sanders, a 6-2 quarterback and the highest-rated recruit (No. 60 in the ESPN 300) to sign with an FCS school, and the country’s No. 1 cornerback De’Jahn Warren from Hyattsville, Maryland, who decommitted from Georgia to Jackson State.

“Coach Prime” also signed eight athletes who transferred from Power 5 schools such as Southern California, Missouri, Tennessee and Florida State, and his son Shilo, who transferring from South Carolina.

“We’re going to change the game here,” Sanders said. We expect to win. We expect to mature these guys, develop these guys and give them an opportunity to be a professional, on the field and off the field, but we’re going to win here. We’re going to turn a lot of heads; I promise you that.”

  • The Tigers also have commitments from 6-2 Braezhon Ross, a three-star defensive tackle from Las Vegas.

  • Herman Smith is a 5-11 three-star athlete from San Diego.

  • Nyles Gaddy, is a 6-4 outside linebacker from Nashville, Tennessee, who spent two seasons at the University of Tennessee.

  • Jeremiah Brown is a 6-2 three-star linebacker from Tallahassee, Florida.

  • Javorrius Selmon, a 5-10 cornerback from Jackson, Mississippi, is a transfer from Mississippi State.

  • Aubrey Miller Jr., a 6-2 linebacker from Memphis, Tennessee, is a Missouri transfer.

  • 6-2 Isaiah Bolden of Tampa, Florida, is a former Florida State defensive back.

  • Maljon Joor, a 6-3 offensive lineman from Jackson, Mississippi, is a transfer from Florida International.

Abdul-Malik McClain, a 6-4-outside linebacker from Atlanta, is a transfer from the University of Southern California.

  • Dylan Spencer, a 6-4-defensive lineman from Madison, Mississippi, is a former Missouri offensive lineman.

  • Shilo Sanders, 6-0 defensive back, is another one of Sanders’ sons who officially transferred from the University of South Carolina to play alongside his brother, Shedeur.

  • Tony Gray, a 6-5 offensive lineman, has officially transferred from the University of Central Florida.

Grambling State

After having a 6-5 overall record in the 2019 football season, and ranking sixth in Southwestern Athletic Conference offenses, the Tigers were able to land three-star quarterback Noah Bodden to their roster.

  • Jaden Hardy, 6-3, is a three-star defensive lineman from Savannah, Georgia.

Alabama A&M

With star quarterback Aqeel Glass, who started all three years for Alabama A&M having his senior season in February, the Bulldogs were able to land three-star quarterback Kaden McMullen to be the next man up for this offense.

Texas Southern University

Mikeviun Titus, a 5-10 three-star recruit from Dallas, has committed to play at Texas Southern.

MID-EASTERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

Florida A&M University started its signing day off with receiving a transfer student from Florida State, Jay Williams, a 6-6 offensive lineman from Moreno Valley, California.

  • Lucius Lattimore is a 5-10 outside linebacker from Jacksonville, Florida, and Trinity Christian Academy.

Howard University

  • Jamal Hines is a 6-3 offensive lineman from Hyattsville, Maryland, and DeMatha Catholic High School.

  • Darius Fox is a 6-3 offensive lineman from Hyattsville, Maryland, and DeMatha Catholic High School.

  • Ja’Colby Thomas Jr. is a 6-3 wide receiver from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Mesquite High School.

  • Richie Ilarraza is a 5-10 wide receiver from Clearwater, Florida, and Calvary Christian High School.

  • Adrian Chandler is a 6-1 wide receiver from Williston, South Carolina, and Williston-Elko High School.

  • CJ Hoffman is a 6-2 linebacker from Chantilly, Virginia, and Westfield High School.

  • Jaylon Tolbert is a 6-2 quarterback from Hollywood, Florida, and Chaminade Madonna Prep.

  • Montrell Walker is a 6-3 tight end from Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and Mt. Juliet Christian Academy.

  • Terrance Hollon is a 6-1 linebacker from Cleveland and Benedictine High School.

  • Robert Morgan IV is a 5-10 running back from Mineral, Virginia, and Louisa County High School.

  • Jamel Stewart is a 6-3 defensive lineman from Richmond, Virginia, and Thomas Jefferson High School.

  • Broadus Brown is a 6-0 defensive lineman from Paramus, New Jersey, and Paramus Catholic High School.

Delaware State

  • Zaire Falls is a 6-3 offensive lineman from Willingboro, New Jersey, and Willingboro High School.

  • Isaiah Cook is a 6-3 offensive lineman from Willingboro, New Jersey, and Willingboro High School.

  • Alfred Darlington is a 6-3 offensive lineman from Sterling, Virginia, and Avalon School.

  • Joseph Maxwell III is a 6-4 offensive lineman from Savannah, Georgia, and Windsor Forest High School.

  • Omakus Langley II is a 6-3 defensive lineman from Hillside, New Jersey, and Hillside High School.

  • Diu Dau is a 6-4 offensive lineman from Rockville, Maryland, and Richard Montgomery High School.

  • Jasiyah Brooks is a 6-2 defensive back from Bowie, Maryland, and Bowie High School.

  • Curt Henry Jr. is a 5-10 quarterback from Newark, Delaware, and Hodgson Vo-Tech High School.

North Carolina A&T state

The North Carolina A&T State Aggies added seven recruits to its program.

  • Jamison Warren is a 5-11 wide receiver from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and East Forsyth High School.

  • Nathaniel Spindle is a 5-11 cornerback from Charlotte, North Carolina, and Julius L. Chambers High School.

  • Korion Sharpe is a 6-4 offensive lineman from Charlotte, North Carolina, and Rocky River High School.
  • Terrell Spicer is a 6-3 cornerback from Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Northside High School.

 

  • Henry Daniel is a 6-2 defensive lineman from Creedmoor, North Carolina, and South Granville High School.

 

  • Avarion Cole is a 6-1 cornerback from Charlotte, North Carolina, and Julius L. Chambers High School.

  • Zach Yeager is a 6-2 quarterback from Minneapolis and Minneapolis North High School.

Norfolk State

Shawn Fahey is a 6-4 offensive lineman from Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Ocean Lakes High School.

Andrew Nickens is a 6-4 offensive lineman from Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Chancellor High School.

Dyral McMillian is a 6-3 offensive lineman from Charlotte, North Carolina, and Jireh Prep.

Independent

Tennessee State

Tennessee State, a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, signed several top recruits, including three-star receiver Roscoe Gibson from Miami, Florida. He averaged 38.2 yards per reception and 123.2 yards per game as a senior.

Four-star recruit Sean McMoore, 6-4, from Kaploei, Hawaii, is a transfer from Vanderbilt.

Dual-threat quarterback Isaiah Green, who is 6-2, transferred from Marshall University.

Three-star recruit Sincere Littles, who is 6-2 and from Sarasota, Florida, signed.
