A judge ruled Monday that lawyers for model Janice Dickinson can depose Bill Cosby ;and his former lawyer in a defamation lawsuit the model has brought against the comedian.

Cosby has previously denied allegations through his former lawyer, ;Martin Singer, that he drugged and raped Dickinson in a Lake Tahoe, California, hotel room in 1982. Singer, on behalf of Cosby, ;accused Dickinson of lying.

Dickinson, a former judge on “America’s Next Top Model,” said Cosby defamed her reputation by calling her a liar, and ;sued the comedian in May.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Debre Katz Weintraub has ruled that Cosby and Singer must answer questions about whether the denial of the rape was made maliciously, the Los Angeles Times ;reports. That shields Cosby from answering potential questions about allegations that he drugged and raped dozens of other women over decades. ;

The depositions must take place before Nov. ;25, the judge ruled. ;

Cosby has sought to tamp down on lawyers prying into his past, but he hasn’t been completely successful. In August, another judge ordered Cosby to give a sworn deposition regarding claims that he sexually abused 15-year-old Judy Huth at the Playboy Mansion after plying her with alcohol in the 1970s. ;

Prominent attorney Gloria Allred deposed Cosby last month in the Huth case. Shortly after that, Cosby replaced Singer with lawyer Christopher Tayback. The contents of that deposition could become public ;in December, Deadline reported. ; ;

The Huffington Post avoids naming alleged victims of sexual abuse or rape, but Huth and Dickinson have spoken publicly about their allegations against Cosby. Dickinson has said she ;never reported ;the alleged rape to law authorities. ;
