Recently I worked at Impact Hub Oakland, a shared workspace whose mission ” . . . is to build an entrepreneurial community and coworking space to create solutions for a world that works for all.” Here are 10 things I learned: 1. The space at 2323 Broadway street used to house a car dealership and is 16,000 sq. ft. 2. Recently I worked at Impact Hub Oakland, a shared workspace whose mission ” . . . is to build an entrepreneurial community and coworking space to create solutions for a world that works for all.” Here are 10 things I learned:

1. The space at 2323 Broadway street used to house a car dealership and is 16,000 sq. ft.

2. There is currently an exhibit called “Justice For the People” that highlights folks killed by police officers post Oscar Grant.

3. Individuals can get a membership and work there and organizations have offices there including Hack the Hood, the Kapor Center, Outdoor Afro, and Black Girls Code.

4. There are more than 50 Impact Hubs world-wide.

5. They host events there, capacity is more than 650. I attended an event there for the San Francisco Black Film Festival.

6. There is Wi Fi.

7. There are quiet working areas and areas for collaboration and phone booths one can sign out and make phone calls.

8. There is coffee, tea, and a fridge too.

9. There are conference rooms for rent as well.

10. Members can also get their mail delivered there.
