University of Maryland College Park officials announced Wednesday that the decision was made by “mutual consent” with the student, who sent the email to fraternity brothers in January 2014. Kappa Sigma fraternity has acknowledged that the student was an undergraduate and member of the University of Maryland chapter when he sent the email. The fraternity says it suspended the student.
