Maurice Ashley, the first African-American to become an international grandmaster in chess, visited his old stomping grounds in New York City to take on a chess-playing park hustler.
The two played a pretty entertaining game — complete with trash talk and some flimflammery, too, which brought a smile to the champ’s face.
“Don’t try the trickery now,” he told the hustler.
