Murder defendant O.J. Simpson reacts to testimony by neighbors of his ex-wife about hearing a dog barking around 10:15 p.m. on the night of the murders of his ex-wife and her friend Ron Goldman. The prosecution trying Simpson for the murders is attempting to use the dog’s barking to establish the approximate time the murders took place.

O.J. Simpson’s trial and not guilty verdict is still often the topic of much heated debate in certain circles.

Now adding more fuel to the “conspiracy” fire is the fact that the Los Angeles Police Department have reportedly recovered and are now testing a knife that was found on the property once owned by the famed football star, the LA Times reports.

According to the report, the Robbery-Homicide Division is currently looking into the buck knife that was apparently turned over to an officer several years ago by a person who found it while doing construction work on the property. Detectives reportedly only recently learned about the kinfe’s existence, and are trying to determine where it came from.

One of Simpson’s attorneys that succesfully argued for his acquittal in 1995 in the deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldmoan, called the development “ridiculous.”

“It’s amazing how the world cannot move on from this case!” attorney Carl Douglas said. “And it, and the media, is apparently still fascinated by everything O.J. Simpson.”

The LA Times notes that the officer who reportedly had the knife was retiring and before doing so informed detectives about the weapon in the last few months. An investigation was quickly launched into the kinfe’s history, as well as a series of forensic tests to determine if it had an connection to the June 12, 1994 double homicide. As the Times notes, finding the murder weapon had been an obsession for police and others alike following the deaths that shook the nation.
