Shonda Rhimes has perfected the art of crafting a hit TV show. The showrunner behind ABC’s top-rated Thursday night lineup has received rave reviews for her vision both on-screen and behind the scenes.
Actor Joe Morton, who plays the high-powered ringleader of the secret agency B613 on “Scandal,” is the latest to sing Rhimes’ praises. He stopped by HuffPost Live on Wednesday and raved about the show’s executive producer.
“Working with Shonda Rhimes is just a pig in shit, to be quite frank,” he said. “It’s just wonderful because she’s brilliant at what she does. She is clear about how she wants things done.”
While Rhimes shines with her work on “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “How to Get Away with Murder,” she also seems to have some leverage outside of the shows as well.
“She certainly has an enormous amount of influence on that company,” he said. “It’s surprising, it’s wonderful, it’s delirious, it’s all the things it should be to see three shows that are so enormously diverse and most of the actors on those shows come from theater, which is again a surprise.”
