The yet-untitled series ;will comprise three chapter books and one picture book, ;loosely based on Wallis’ own (already impressive) ;life experiences. Her picture book will follow ;a spunky young girl as she gets ready for, and arrives at, an award show with her mother. Meanwhile, the ;chapter books — for readers ages 6 ;and up — will tell the story of ;an up-and-coming star named ;Shai Williams, who has “a flair for the dramatic … both onstage and off.” (Maybe it’s more autobiographical than she’s letting on?)
“Reading is very important,” Wallis said in a release. “It allows people to form a visual experience in their minds of what is going on in the story. I hope all readers enjoy using their imaginations along with me and take a journey into my books.”
