Remember that time Kanye West had a so-called “meltdown” before appearing on “Saturday Night Live” last month? The whole thing was recorded — he swore a bunch, threatened not to perform (but did, obviously) and insulted Taylor Swift for the umpteenth time.

“SNL” creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels remembers it too, but he doesn’t seem to bothered by how it all went down. In fact, he basically just chalks it up to Kanye being Kanye.

“That happened in his dressing room,” Lorne told E! News, seemingly defending the rapper’s privacy. “Kanye’s been on the show a lot of years, and it’s always different. He’s an artist, you know? A great artist.”

Michaels then brought up Ye’s appearance on the sketch comedy show’s 40th anniversary special, during which the “Gold Digger” rapper performed a medley of his hits and even made a surprise cameo in a “Wayne’s World” sketch.

“When he did the 40th anniversary show — which I wanted him to be part of it — I had no idea what he was going to do, even 10 minutes before we went on the air. He arrived that day,” Michaels explained. “But he just always delivers, and he’s Kanye.”

Yes, yes he is.
