“The officer took full responsibility, acknowledging his actions,” interim police chief David Del Rosso told the station. “The city has sent a strong message that this behavior is not acceptable.”

As punishment, Blunt was suspended without pay for one 10-hour shift.

Blunt texted his supervisor, Sgt. Kristine Pamatian, after the cop won $32 through the lottery. The exact date he sent the text is unclear. The department did not immediately return a request for comment.

Del Rosso took over the department after a different texting scandal forced Casselberry’s former chief to resign.

In October of last year, Police Chief Bill McNeil left the department after allegations emerged that he sent nude photos of himself to a female officer, Katrine Zorn, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

McNeil, a 26-year police veteran, resigned Oct. 29 hours after Casselberry looked into claims that the city’s top cop had sent Zorn hundreds of sexually graphic text messages, including photos of his penis and videos of himself while masturbating on his bed.

McNeil later admitted to sending Zorn racy texts, but said it was only after she started sending pictures to him, according to the Sentinel.
