The decision to remove memorabilia and photos commemorating the disgraced NFL player was made by the Hermitage High School’s Hall of Fame Committee, which is made up of former and current members of the faculty.

Thirty to 45 minutes after finding out, we removed the stuff out of the trophy case and the plaque off the Hall of Fame wall,” Chris Rollison, the school’s director of student activities, told USA Today Sports.

Sharper, 39, pleaded guilty on Monday to one count of sexual assault in Arizona and no contest to allegations he drugged and raped two women in California.

Never in my life did I think I would be standing here talking about Darren in this situation,” said Joe Coulter, who once coached Sharper on the school basketball team, according to a local CBS affiliate.

Not that it really matters now, but Sharper was a five-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro safety during his time in the NFL.
