The Golden Globes are back, kicking off award season in serious style. Tonight’s 82nd ceremony is already buzzing with chatter about nominees like Barbie and Oppenheimer—but if we’re honest, it’s the fashion we’re here for.
This year’s show marks a pivotal moment for the Globes after past controversies over diversity in its voting body. Now, with expanded membership and 10% Black representation, the spotlight is on. Black Hollywood showed up and showed out in couture for the culture.
The red carpet was a runway of glam, with bold risks, dazzling sequins, and winter-ready velvet fabrics dominating the scene. Black excellence radiated everywhere, and we’re still not over these looks.
Black women like Zendaya, Quinta Brunson, and Cynthia Erivo rule the Golden Globes red carpet.
Zendaya channeled old Hollywood in a burnt orange satin gown. The strapless custom Louis Vuitton garment had a sculpted sweetheart neckline and a dramatic overskirt that flowed into a regal train. Her vintage-inspired curls? Perfection. Sis just does not miss.
Quinta Brunson brought chocolatey couture in a brown sequin Roberto Cavalli gown that hugged her curves flawlessly. The sweetheart neckline and wide straps gave classic vibes, and her pixie cut topped off her look. With its soft, scalloped edges, the hairstyle framed her face beautifully.
Cynthia Erivo gave us whimsical drama in a black-and-white floral halter gown. With an embellished waist and a voluminous skirt, she brought Wicked energy to the carpet—literally spellbinding.
But let’s not forget about the men – see Colman Domingo and more.
Colman Domingo brought playful sophistication in a classic tux jazzed up with a polka dot silk scarf tied into a statement bow. Silver accents and statement rings completed his Valentino ensemble.
