The Washington, D.C.-bred superstar, who is currently topping the Billboard album charts, told Larry King that he “would think there would be a gay rapper before a black president.”
“I think 2015 is another world, as compared to 1995,” he said. “It used to be taboo to be a part of the gay community, now it’s taboo to speak bad on the gay community.”

Last year, rapper T-Pain argued that some artists had refused to work with Frank Ocean, who had announced in a 2012 blog post that he had been in a romantic relationship with another man.
Meanwhile, in 2013, the artist alternately known as Snoop Dogg and Snoop Lion told NME that he wasn’t sure if homosexuality would ever be fully acceptable in rap and hip-hop music because of the “masculine” aspects of those genres.
“It’s like a football team,” the rapper, who has spoken out in support of same-sex marriage, said at the time. “You can’t be in a locker room full of motherf**king tough a** dudes, then all of a sudden say, ‘Hey, man, I like you.’ You know, that’s going to be tough.”
