Model and editor-in-chief of Urban Bush Babes Cipriana Quann is suing the New York Police Department for an alleged false arrest, the New York Daily News reports.
According to the report, Quann, 37, was going into Brooklyn dance club, Verboten, on May 2 with friends. She reportedly got into the way of officers trying to arrest a drug suspect.
Quann had nothing to do with the bust, but she was shoved by an NYPD lieutenant from behind, she claims in her lawsuit.
“Can you please watch where you are pushing. … I am a woman,” Quann told the lieutenant, identified as Stephen Conforti in the lawsuit.
That, Quann claims, is what prompted cops to grab and frisk her, before putting her in handcuffs.
Quann filed her lawsuit on Monday in Brooklyn federal court. She says after her arrest she spent 24 hours in police custody, then decided not to fight charges, reluctantly “agreeing to accept an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal for disorderly conduct.”
The criminal case was later dismissed and sealed. The suit is now seeking unspecified monetary damages for false arrest and unlawful stop and frisk, the Daily News notes.
