The Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers are currently engaged in a full-on emoji war with one another, and the future of both franchises hang in the balance.

Free agent center DeAndre Jordan, who committed to sign a four-year, $80 million deal ;with the Dallas Mavericks on July 3, is reportedly having serious second thoughts about leaving the Los Angeles Clippers, the only NBA team for which he’s ever played.
He even called Doc Rivers to just talk about life, you know? Like an ex who is having second thoughts. He reportedly is also talking with other Clippers players, too.
And because the league’s moratorium on signing free agents doesn’t expire until Thursday, the Clippers have decided to make one final attempt to lure back their incredibly sensitive and indecisive, but nevertheless comically important, center.
News of that final push was enough to freak out the Mavericks, and owner Mark Cuban is fortifying his defense, while Mavericks swingman Chandler Parsons, who played a key role in recruiting Jordan, needed only a single emoji to say that he was on the way to try and save the day.
But the Clippers have rallied. They were down. They were out. They were riding banana boats. But now they are back, and they are on their way to meet with Jordan in Houston, Texas. Don’t believe them? Well, goddammit, they have some bat signal-like emojis ;to prove it!

Even the team’s banana boat-riding Chris Paul, who reportedly hurt Jordan’s feelings a bunch by not giving him high fives during the season, is apparently on his way.
Paul Pierce, who is old, just tweeted an image of an emoji, rather than actually tweeting an emoji, and if you don’t understand the difference, well, we don’t know what to tell you.
Again, this is happening. This is not a joke. Basically every important important member of the Clippers franchise is descending on Houston. They are back on offense, and the Clippers were one of the best offensive teams in the league last season!
;League sources told ESPN that Jordan is actually “leaning” toward rescinding his agreement to sign with the Mavs and running back to the arms of Doc and Co.
