Taraji P. Henson Wins Golden Globe For Best Actress In A TV Drama

Taraji P. Henson Davis won the the award for Best Actress in a TV Drama at the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night. The actress was recognized for her role as Cookie Lyon on the Fox series “Empire.”

“Who knew that playing an ex-convict would take me all around the globe?” Henson said during her acceptance speech. “It just goes to show … the world loves real.” 

Henson, who handed out cookies on her way to the stage, was less than phased when prompted to start finishing up her speech. 

“Please wrap?” she said. “I waited 20 years for this. You’re gonna wait.” 

Cookie forever!

The award marks Henson’s first Golden Globe nomination and win. 

Also nominated in the category were Viola Davis for “How to Get Away with Murder,” Robin Wright for “House of Cards,” Caitriona Balfe for “Outlander” and Eva Green for “Penny Dreadful.”
