Kim Kardashian rented out Staples Center for her boo and his boys on Monday, a birthday present that cost her around $110,000. No big deal. A lot has been written about the subsequent game that took place, and if we’re being honest, there’s probably a 60 percent chance that an oral history of the day will appear on Grantland within the next 3-5 years. Supposedly Bieber and Tyga played well. John Legend sung at least one song. The Kardashians were there. Kanye ate an NBA Finals cake. Stuff happened, basically.

But most importantly, we were allowed a rare view into the Kanye West’s basketball game! For a man as image-conscious as Ye, it was nice that he allowed his team to put out a video of him participating in something that even he couldn’t argue he’s the best in the world at. The subsequent video of him shooting a free throw is mesmerizing. Seriously, I’ve watched it at least one hundred times.

Some questions and thoughts related to the above video:

— The video begins with Kanye West staring straight at the camera, like “You filming?” Ladies and gentlemen, this is what fear looks like, and this is the most humanlike look Kanye has ever given a camera. Not coincidentally, it’s perhaps also the most endearing.
— Kanye sort of stutters before he puts up the shot, almost shooting before realizing he needs a bit more time. He looks a little nervous, does he not? We feel you, man. It’s Staples Center, after all, and Bieber is there.
— Question: How many takes were there before Kanye made the shot? Based on how he steps toward the basket, it would seem to indicate he was losing confidence in himself. I’ll put the over-under at three.
— The sound of Kanye’s friend screaming “OH-KAY. NO PRESSURE.” after Kanye makes a free throw in a situation with literally so little pressure involved shows what level of skill we’ve talking about here, which is not much.
— Kanye’s shooting form, while not the worst we’ve ever seen, could use some work. He doesn’t follow through, and his elbow bends to the side at a noticeable angle.
— The relief Kanye feels after nailing the shot is undeniably tangible. You can see him breathe a sigh of relief before breaking into a little “I did it” dance. It’s almost … cute? Just friends being friends, except again, it’s Kanye West. And, like, Justin Bieber.
— What kind of pre-game shootaround involves everyone else standing around while one guy shoots free throws? Kanye West’s shootaround.
— “SWISH, literally.” That is all.

Look at Kanye laughing and playing with the guys. Makin’ jokes. Smiling. Just wrestling and stuff. He even let his friends play defense. This is the happiest version of Kanye we’ve ever seen. This is Kanye, the human. Kim did well.
