Multiple people were killed and several dozen injured after an employee at Excel Industries in Hesston, Kansas opened fire, Thursday.

According to several news sources the shooter has been identified as Cedric Ford, 38. Police have not confirmed the suspect’s identity but noted that authorities killed the shooter.

“There could be as many as three or four others (dead), and possibly up to 20 people that have been injured,” Harvey County Sheriff T. Walton told reporters, CNN reports.

According to the news station, officers responded to several calls of shooting at Excel Industries, which makes lawn care products. The first call noted that a man had been shot while driving; another claiming that there was shooting in the company’s parking lot. The last call noted that the shooter had entered the workplace.

“I saw the shooter get out of his truck, shoot someone down and go into the building,” Excel employee Matt Gerald, who was on a smoke break when the shooting happened, told The Hesston Record. “I was flabbergasted. I was at a loss for words.”

Harvey County Sheriff T. Walton said that they were still investigating the incident.

“This is just a horrible incident that’s happened here,” the sheriff said. “It’s going to be a lot of sad people before this is all over,” CNN reports.
