Last week, the cast of the upcoming Marvel film “Fantastic Four” sat down for a radio interview with Atlanta’s Rock 100.5, and the result was awkward, to say the least.

Michael B. Jordan discussed the uncomfortable encounter in an interview with HuffPost Live on Tuesday, saying he’s glad that he and his co-stars “took the high road” after the radio host pressed them about the racially diverse cast, unable to comprehend how the black character Johnny Storm could possibly be related to the white Sue Storm in the film.

“Sometimes journalists use that room as a safety net to kind of say whatever they want and ask questions that they would never normally ask you outside of that room,” Jordan told host Marc Lamont Hill. “So, as actors, sometimes we feel the pressure to always say what you’re supposed to and kind of put your best foot forward [in] promoting the film.”

Kate Mara, who plays Sue Storm, wrote off the host’s question as “just ignorance,” but Jordan admitted that insensitive questions can sometimes irk actors.

“But we’re still people. We’re still human. So that kind of bothers us. But you know, at the end of the day, we don’t want to bring the attention to ignorance, and we always take the high road on these things and move forward,” Jordan said. ;
