The likely 2016 GOP presidential candidate made brief remarks to members of the state Senate and House of Representatives. “I’ll be very brief, I came to see Ludacris. I’ve already done that. I appreciate the fact there’s a successful guy that is giving back and you all giving him this honor is quite appropriate,” Bush said, according to ABC News.
The rapper made headlines in 2008 after he criticized the governor’s brother, then-President George W. Bush, and then-presidential candidate John McCain (R).
“McCain don’t belong in any chair unless he’s paralyzed, yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped,” he said in “Politics as Usual.”
The lyrics even drew a rebuke from a spokesman on Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.
