Although the best news of the past month for NFL free agent Devon Still and his daughter Leah was learning that the five-year-old is officially cancer-free, Leah will receive yet another holiday gift on Friday when she finds a LeBron James autographed jersey under her Christmas tree.
“To Leah, You’re my HERO,” James scrawled on the Cleveland Cavaliers’ red road uniform.
Leah and LeBron have a history together: Earlier this year, she got to meet him at All-Star Weekend. In June, even while being treated for Stage IV neuroblastoma, Leah wrote him a letter wishing him all the best in the NBA Finals.
Devon, who says he purchased the jersey and got James to autograph it, touted the present on Instagram Wednesday afternoon, writing, “Santa can take credit for all the other gifts under the tree but this gift right here is going to have FROM DAD in all capital letters so she know it’s from me … Good look@kingjames for getting this done for me.”
After the year she’s had, Leah deserves this. Enjoy this happy — and healthy — holiday season, Still family!
