Attorney Jay Bender says he has asked the South Carolina Supreme Court to stop a Monday afternoon hearing because it would violate the shield law that protects reporters from revealing sources. Summer was anonymously sent the diary of Brown’s widow last week and published it on her Facebook page.

A judge has ordered the diary of Tommie Rae Brown to be kept secret as the fight over James Brown’s estate enters its ninth year.
