John Travolta is the latest actor to join the O.J. Simpson defense team on the small screen. FX announced that Travolta has joined “American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson,” the first season of Ryan Murphy’s upcoming real-life anthology series. The actor will portray Robert Shapiro, one of the lawyers on Simpson’s “Dream Team” of defense attorneys. The 10-episode season will follow Simpson’s 1995 murder trial, with a focus on the laywer’s perspective and the LAPD’s history with the African-American community. Cuba Gooding Jr. will star as Simpson, David Schwimmer will portray Robert Kardashian and Murphy staple Sarah Paulson will play head prosecutor Marcia Clark.
