Elba responded to the escalating rumors with a deprecating tweet about not being handsome enough. (This from one of People’s sexiest men alive.)

It seems more and more likely Elba could play Bond. He said during a Reddit AMA session in November that he would “absolutely” take the role if it were offered, and the recent Sony leak revealed the Emmy-nominated actor is one of the studio’s top picks to step into 007’s shoes. (“Idris should be the next bond,” Sony co-chair Amy Pascal wrote.)
