A “Hannity” panel on the Walter Scott shooting devolved into chaos Thursday night, prompting one guest to storm off camera. The conversation took a turn for the worse when Rev. A “Hannity” panel on the Walter Scott shooting devolved into chaos Thursday night, prompting one guest to storm off camera.

The conversation took a turn for the worse when Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, a conservative African-American civil rights activist, said the public “overreacted” in the wake of the killings of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. He suggested that Americans should be cautious before doing so again in the case of Walter Scott, a black man who was shot eight times in the back by a South Carolina police officer. The killing was captured on video and officer Michael Slager has been charged with murder.

“All that I’m saying is that we should wait for due process because, I don’t think Americans understand how angry and brainwashed these young black folks are,” he said.

Leo Terrell, a civil rights attorney and radio host, balked at Peterson’s claims, repeatedly shouting at host Sean Hannity, “You better come to me or I’m gone!”

“I am not going to sit here and listen to this hate!” he yelled. “I’m not going to listen to it!”

Hannity sought to placate Terrell, agreeing that in the case of Walter Scott “the legal justifiable use of force is clear” and that Scott was “not a threat to anybody.”

“I have just given you kudos,” said Terrell, who has often clashed with Hannity and other Fox News personalities on issues of race. “You and I are in agreement for the second time in the history of Fox News Channel.”

But when Peterson attempted to interject, Terrell once again blew up, shouting that he was “done” and ripping his ear piece out. Peterson continued to talk until Hannity informed him that Terrell had left the set.

“That’s too bad,” he said. “Leo’s a little coward.”
