SEATTLE, Nov 28 (Reuters) – Protesters angered by a grand jury’s decision not to indict a white police officer for killing an unarmed black teenager in Ferguson, Missouri, entered a shopping mall in downtown Seattle on Friday and chained shut at least two doors at an entrance, police said.

More than 120 people were marching in Seattle when a portion broke off, went through Pacific Place mall and chained shut two doors, Seattle Police Department spokesman Patrick Michaud said.

Michaud said protesters also tried to gain entrance into Nordstrom’s flagship store downtown. One man was arrested for kicking and damaging the spokes of a bicycle an officer had been riding alongside the marchers. Police warned drivers of traffic delays.

It was the latest in a series of protests across the United States to disrput Black Friday shopping at hundreds of stores. Some protestors called for higher wages at Wal-Mart Stores Inc while others protested over the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in an August shooting.

A protest organizer called on demonstrators to blow whistles and draw up signs in a bid to disrupt a tree-decorating ceremony scheduled for 5 p.m. at Westlake Center shopping mall in downtown Seattle.

Seattle police said on Twitter that officers were deploying “dispersal devices” while some demonstrators have thrown flares and are using pepper spray. (Reporting by Jimmy Lovaas in Seattle; Writing by Eric M. Johnson; Editing by Sandra Maler)
