First hospitalized on Oct. 2 following a routine cortisone injection wrong awry, the subsequent MRSA infection was so severe that there were worries that Fells would need to have part of his foot amputated. But after seven surgeries and continuous treatment, ;doctors decided they did not need to amputate, according to NFL.com. The Giants have since placed Fells on season-ending injured reserve.

Although his NFL future is a big question mark right now, there is one thing that’s certain — Fells’ kids are happy to have their dad back home.
