As the allegations of sexual abuse against Bill Cosby pile up, NBC has come under more and more fire in recent days regarding their support of Cosby, who is supposed to star in an untitled sitcom on the network at some point in the near future. Chuck Todd, host of NBC’s “Meet The Press,” said in a HuffPost Live interview Tuesday that he doesn’t expect the conflict of interest to impact his network’s coverage of the scandal. “I have never, in any story I’ve covered where NBC has corporate interests, I’ve never run into that problem,” Todd told host Marc Lamont Hill. “I think that’s people on the outside looking to create a story.” If you haven’t heard, Cosby has come under fire in …

“I think that’s people on the outside looking to create a story.”

If you haven’t heard, Cosby has come under fire in the last few weeks over a multitude of rape allegations, including by Barbara Bowman, who talked about her alleged experience with HuffPost Live on Friday. Bowman also penned an op-ed in the Washington Post last week on the saga.

When pressed on NBC’s coverage, or perceived lack thereof, Todd got defensive.

“Hasn’t it been underexplored everywhere?” Todd asked. “Why is it that only NBC is underexploring? Look, I’m not going to get into the decision-making. I’m not part of that reporting team. But, just as a consumer, I think everyone is underreporting it.”
