In honor of the 30th anniversary of the film, ;F-Comedy, a satirical humor YouTube channel created a new trailer ;based on the movie titled, “Black to the Future.” The parody ;examines ;how far race relations have really come. ;
In the original film, ;Marty McFly goes back in time to 1955 and meets a black busboy named Goldie who eventually becomes mayor of Marty’s ;town. Goldie’s position as mayor, in the future, shows the progress of the black community. Unlike the sci-fi version of film, in the F-Comedy video, Goldie travels into the future instead ;of Marty. ;
After Goldie is transported to present day in “Black to the Future,” he is able to see the advancements made by the black community, from no longer having to enter through the back of a restaurant to the election of a black U.S. president. But the parody ;becomes painfully too real when Goldie ;encounters a white cop.
It doesn’t have the same happy ending as the original, but it really makes you think. ;Watch the video below to see what happens next. ;
