Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will not seek re-election in 2016, The Baltimore Sun reported on Friday.
A Rawlings-Blake spokesman confirmed her plans on Friday to The Sun. The paper also reported that the mayor had briefed her cabinet of her plans.
Rawlings-Blake led the city during unrest following the death of Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old black man who died from injuries sustained while in police custody in April.
Rawlings-Blake has served as mayor since 2010 and her term will expire in 2016.
