Trump is popular, it’s undeniable. It’s not for a lack of better candidates. It’s because people are afraid, and Trump is pushing fear. Unfortunately, fear is often more powerful than logic. Let’s be clear, Trump supporters should be afraid.

But don’t be afraid of Muslims. Be afraid of a presidential candidate who would ban Muslims from entering the country and create a national Muslim database, something that even Dick motherf**king Cheney says “goes against everything we stand for.” That’s like Darth Vader telling a stormtrooper, “Hey, don’t be so mean.”

Don’t be afraid of Mexican immigrants. Be afraid of a presidential candidate who thinks Mexican immigrants are rapists or drug-peddling “Breaking Bad” villains. Unless, of course, it’s for his own businesses, then Trump will gladly use the scaaaaarryyy foreign labor.

Don’t be afraid of China’s business practices. Be afraid of a presidential candidate who’s been involved in more bankruptcies than a Lehman Brothers-themed Monopoly board.

Don’t be afraid of President Obama. Be afraid of a presidential candidate who relies on and, in fact, spearheads racially charged birther conspiracy theories.

Don’t be afraid of Black Lives Matter. Be afraid of a presidential candidate who suggests that a Black Lives Matter activist who was beaten up by the crowd at a Trump rally deserved to be “roughed up.”

Don’t be afraid of a women’s rights movement. Be afraid of a presidential candidate who’s referred to women as “fat pigs,” “dogs” and “disgusting animals.”

Don’t be afraid of stricter gun laws. Be afraid of a presidential candidate who has a concealed carry permit in New York and loves the movie “Death Wish.”

Don’t be afraid of ISIS. OK, maybe be a little afraid of ISIS, but also be afraid of a presidential candidate who says he has a “foolproof” plan to defeat ISIS, but won’t reveal it until he’s put into power as president. What a patriot!

There are things to be afraid of in this world, but they are not what you think.
